Natural Home Hair Remedies

Our hair receives a lot of damage in our day-to-day lives. From brushing, teasing and pulling it into style, to the unpredictable weather that hits us the second we leave the house, our hair has to deal with a lot. Not to mention heat damage from hairdryers, straighteners and curlers! Therefore, we have collected a few little hair remedies that you can concoct from the comfort of your own home. We have specifically chosen remedies that are inexpensive and normally made from ingredients you already have lying around the house! Check out the recipes below and give your hair some much needed TLC!

Cinnamon & Coconut Oil

Cinnamon Hair Mask

Frustrated by dry hair that just doesn’t seem to grow? Then this is the mask for you. Cinnamon helps stimulate blood circulation, encouraging healthy hair growth whereas the coconut oil nourishes and revitalises dry and damaged hair. Simply combine equal parts cinnamon and coconut oil, apply to your roots and massage into your scalp. Let sit for 35-40 minutes then rinse and wash your hair as normal.

Brown Sugar & Olive Oil

Olive Oil Hair Mask

Dry scalp driving you crazy? Split ends got you reaching for a hair-band? This naturally exfoliating hair-mask is a great scalp treatment by locking in moisture. The natural fat of the olive oil treats split ends and moisturises dry and dead hair, whilst the brown sugar helps deter dandruff prone roots! Mix 2tbsp of brown sugar with 1tbsp of olive oil and apply to your hair from the ends up. Let sit for 15-20 minutes and then rinse.

Yoghurt, Egg & Honey

Honey Hair Mask

This mask is for those heads that have lost their shine. If your hair is looking dull, dry and greasy (instead of the shine which you want) then this is the perfect mask for you. With moisturising, protein-rich ingredients, this one will leave you with hair that you are proud of! Simply combine 1 egg, 1tbsp of honey and 3tbsp of yoghurt and apply all over wet hair. Sit for 15-20 minutes and then voila! Beautiful, moisturised hair.
